- VGC - fire destroyed the old stand at Worthing's Woodside Road gound in 1985, and this chap, Morty Hollis, got this new stand built. Morty was quite a man at this club - a fan from 1944, the unofficial groundsman in the 60's, chairman in the 70's (and still groundsman!) and then later President. He became known as Mr Worthing until he passed away in April 2023, aged 94.
