- VGC - Neil, while at Scarborugh whom he guided into the Football League as the first club to win automatic promotion from the Conference, in 1987. Scarborough was the 3rd club he managed, of 17 different clubs in all - to go onto the 10 clubs he played for as a winger. He's had a nomadic career, I think it's fair to say. And he's broken the record for retiring and coming out of retirement. When he became Palace manager in 2007, they were going to be his "last club". Not quite....... he's had 9 jobs since then!
