VGC - Everton chairman Phillip Carter who took the chair in 1978 and presided over a superb period of Everton history - they won 2 league titles, the FA Cup, and the Cup Winners' Cup. He vacated the role in 1993 but came back again in 1998 for another 6 years, before retiring. He was knighted in 1991.
