VGC - winger Alistair, better known as Ally, signed from St Mirren in 1956 and played 193 league games for Rovers (47 goals) before returning to Scotland at Hibs. Also played for Ayr Utd and had 2 spells at Third Lanark but became much more famous as Scotland manager with his own "army" in the 1978 World Cup, the leaat said about that venture the better!
