VGC - winger Jack Major, who played in 2 losing finals for the BIshops before appearing on the winning side in 1955 when they beat Hendon. He scored a hat-trick when they won 4-2 at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, 2nd round, in Dec 1954.
Major started off with Hull Amateurs, played 3 games for City but then tried Romford, before moving to Bishops in about 1949 and appeared in the 1950 final, then 1954. But he finally got the winners' medal in 1955. Then he moved to Hull City but after just 10 more games he returned to the non-league world with Goole Town and then retired.
