- VGC - due to wide trim edge, photo size is 7.75x3" only - a truly legendary striker at Aldershot, where John scored 58 league goals in 105 games, including 34 in the 78/9 season, but had a nomadic career without as much success everywhere else - Huddersfield, Barnsley, Oldham, Rochdale, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Mansfield & home-town Rotherham, where he ended up at centre-back. Subsequent to his playing career he had a long coaching career, mainly at Yorkshire clubs.
