NOTES FOR SEARCHES

Please ignore "System Login" - that's for us! Instead go to "Images Keyword Search" or to one of the other Search options listed below.

IMAGES KEYWORD SEARCH

Type the first few letters of your chosen Club or Player surname, then click "Go". This will take you straight to all the images relating to the letters you have keyed in, e.g. if you are after Billy Wright, by simply typing "wrig" you get pictures of Billy - however, you also get Ian, Keith, Charlie etc. When you find some images, click on each image to expand the view and to get a full description including price. However, you might like to refine your search, or make it more specific. This is what to do...........

By CLUB

Click on blue v arrow. Scroll down to your Club. Click on "GO" next to Images Keyword Search. To save a few seconds, if you type the start letter of your club in the "All Clubs" field, the search will then start at that letter, very useful if your club is York City. However, please remember that each Club's real name has been listed (eg Tottenham Hotspur, NOT Spurs - so for Spurs - key in a T). When you find some images, click on each image to expand the view and to get a full description including price.

If all is then OK you can then access all the images relating to your Club. However, you might like to refine the search a little, say by player, decade, year or competition, and instructions for those searches follow below.

Note:- I have listed every English and Scottish league club, plus some non-league, some European, and some Countries. See what you find. Most teams listed will have at least one photo - there are a few, particularly Scottish, with nothing. For that, I am sorry - I have either sold out, or have never found any to display here. However, if I don't have any now, rest assured I am on the look-out and hope to find some soon. And also be aware this site will be updated weekely so it's worth coming back regularly. If your club is missing from this list, please tell me. One or two have mysteriously disappeared recently - we don't know why - and we will stick them back in!

Note also:- if looking for MATCH ACTION, for instance CHELSEA v IPSWICH, the same photo will show on both Chelsea and Ipswich pages.

And another note:- each Club has its own unique 3-letter code for ease of keying in each image, so for instance Aston Villa is AVL, Sheffield United is SFU, Wales is WAL. It's not rocket science. So please be aware that each picture has one or two of these codes attached and it's important to refer to the complete code at all times in any communication with us. As a test, who do you think are ARS, CVY and WVW?

By PLAYER (SURNAME only)

We have listed as many players as we can identify, up to 4 on each photo. We haven't tried to list players in teamgroups, that's a task beyond our resources. We have used SURNAMES only, and by that we mean EXACT SPELLINGS - so be careful with MAC and MC, and those unusual spellings, e.g. KRZYWICKI, SLEEUWENHOEK - all the more relevant with today's players. The search will find everyone with the surname you choose - for instance, if you key in MOORE, it will find GRAHAM, ALAN, and RONNIE, among others, and of course BOBBY. But if you add a club to the search, eg FULHAM, you'll find only BOBBY in his FULHAM days, and not WEST HAM, or ENGLAND. And when you find some images, click on each image to expand the view and to get a full description including price.

You will find, in some photos, usually MATCH ACTION, that some players are not mentioned. That's because they are not specified on the back of the photo and we decided it's better to leave them out than to take a guess and enter the wrong names. In some cases, we have said "Unidentified - can you help? Email Pete" - where you see this, if you know the player, we'd be very pleased to hear from you. Don't forget to quote the relevant unique PICTURE CODE No. if you decide to email us. Thanks in anticipation!

As regards spellings, we have tried to use the exact spellings as given in handbooks, programmes, annuals, etc. But if you find a spelling mistake, again, please tell us, and quote that Picture Number.

By DECADE

1910's, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's - they are all there. If you add this to the search, it will reduce the amount of photos you will find and is specially relevant with those popular surnames. For instance, if you want a photo of, for example, Alex FERGUSON in his playing days, key in 60's, and you won't end up with DUNCAN or DARREN. Having said that, I don't think there's an ALEX either (yet!). Bear in mind that in this archive there is one pic from the 1890's as I write and this will show in with all the 1990's photos, and it's the same with any images from the 1900's and the 2000's - they're all lumped together too. Sorry about that!

You can also search only by DECADE, with no other searches running, and this may appeal to those collectors of PRE-WAR material, who should search 20's and then 30's. And the same applies for any era. But be careful if a player's career covers 2 or even 3 decades (eg 1958-1972). You'll have to key in all 3 decades, one by one - or leave it out all together. The choice is yours. But when you find some images, click on each image to expand the view and to get a full description including price.

If you want a specific year, eg a Cup Final, just select the relevant year from the list.

By CUP

All photos are assumed to be LEAGUE unless known to be otherwise. If you want a more specific search, eg FA CUP, EUROPEAN, FRIENDLIES, click here and a list of all competitions will appear. Then select the relevant one. There is not a specific LEAGUE search option. So the only way to search for a LEAGUE photo is to leave this search out completely. It does mean you'll get the Cup photos in too, but it's a small proportion of all the photos. If in doubt, leave it out! But it does help anyone wanting an FA CUP FINAL photo, for instance. And, don't forget, when you find some images, click on each image to expand the view and to get a full description including price.

Note that all PREMIERSHIP and NATIONWIDE, 1st Division, 2nd Division, 3rd Division, 4th Division, League 1, League 2, and Championship matches are LEAGUE. It's the same with the SCOTTISH League, and NON-LEAGUE, too. For instance, Athenian League doesn't get a listing, but FA Trophy does. All guises of the LEAGUE CUP (eg Rumbelows, Milk etc) are FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP. All European competitions are simply EUROPE - I haven't broken them down into individual competitions, it's too complicated and they change too often. And there are FRIENDLIES and TESTIMONIALS - where they were specified as such in the description on the back. There are many odd cup competitions listed, from Soccer 6 and Watney Cup, to World Cup 74. Happy hunting!

ORDERING

If and when you "click to purchase" an image, the pic you've selected goes into your Shopping Basket, and you can add to this list to your heart's content. At the end of your shopping spree, press "Email Pete on Completion". This sends us the email automatically, and you yourself get a copy, assuming you have keyed in your email address correctly. At this stage, there is no obligation to complete the order. We have to check it to make sure your chosen image or images are still available, and we will then reply with confirmation and final price including postage. So please await both the immediate email with order details, and then our final confirmation.

NOTE:- "Paypal" isn't operating - yet. We''re working on it!
